T T V Dhinakaran
CHENNAI: AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran on Saturday announced candidates for 11 constituencies allocated to the party in the AIADMK-led NDA for the April 23 polls. Similarly, David Annadurai, who contested from Thiruparankundram in the 2021 assembly election, also missed out on a chance this time. Most nominees are former MLAs and senior party functionaries. C Shanmugavelu (Madathukulam), K Kathir Kaman (Periyakulam), S Kamaraj (Mannargudi), V Karthikeyan (Thiruvaiyaru), Dherpoki V Pandi (Karaikudi), A Gnanasekar (Tirupathur), Esakki Muthu (Nanguneri), R Sundararaj (Ottapidaram-R), Rajasekharan (Trichy West), G Senthamizhan (Saidapet) and T A Elumalai (Poonthamallee-R) have been named as party candidates. However, several long-time supporters and former MLAs, including N Parthiban of Sholinghur, expressed dissatisfaction over not being accommodated in the AIADMK alliance. Dhinkaran had promised them seats and encouraged them to carry out election works a couple of months ago.
Airing his discontent, Parthiban on Friday announced that he was quitting AMMK along with his supporters after holding a meeting with them. You Can Also Check: Chennai AQI | Bank Holidays in Chennai | Gold Rate Today in Chennai | Silver Rate Today in Chennai
