Muzaffarnagar: A 24-year-old final-year MBBS student from Haryana was found dead inside her hostel room at Begrajpur Medical College in Muzaffarnagar on Monday, with police suspecting suicide.

City SP Amrit Jain said, “A team, accompanied by senior officers and a forensic unit, reached the spot. Investigators said the circumstances leading to the death were still unclear and they had not established the cause of death. Mansoorpur police station officer Vipin Tyagi said the family had not lodged any complaint in connection with the incident.
Hostel staff went to check on her after her room remained locked for several hours and spotted her through a rear window before alerting police. After breaking open the locked door in the presence of hostel security staff, we entered the room and found that the student had died. Police sent the body for postmortem as part of the legal procedure, while the student’s family was informed and reached the college after receiving the news.
