Mumbai: A motorcycle allegedly used by three people arrested in an attempted murder case after shots were fired at actor Tiger Shroff ’s BMW in Juhu on Sunday had been bought by accused Hrithik Roshan alias Kumar (22). It was subsequently sold to Khawaja Shaikh, an IT professional from Gilbert Hill in Andheri West, before Roshan bought it from him for Rs 25,000.
However, ownership had not been transferred, a Crime Branch officer said. Police traced the yellow 220cc motorcycle through CCTV footage and found it abandoned outside the parking area at Andheri (West) railway station. RTO records led investigators to its registered owner, who had sold it several years ago.
Roshan had rented a house in a chawl near Urdu School in Gilbert Hill for about 1.5 years, paying Rs 4,000 monthly, police said.
Shaikh’s uncle Rajjab said the motorcycle and its documents were handed to Roshan about one-and-a-half months ago. Local resident Mohammad Azhar described Roshan as quarrelsome and said he lived alone. Police recorded statements from three former owners and made them witnesses in the case. His family lives in Bihar.
The family learnt about the case when police visited their home on Monday.
