Pune: Talegaon Dabhade police on Tuesday registered a case of attempted murder against three minors for allegedly assaulting a 16-year-old teenager with sharp weapons. The attack was reportedly triggered by a message the teenager posted on a mobile messaging app about two men who were recently released on bail in a murder case.
Police have detained the trio, aged 16 and 17, under sections 109 (attempt to murder) and 126 (wrongful restraint) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant provisions of the Indian Arms Act.
Assistant inspector Sharad Waghule of the Talegaon Dabhade police told TOI that the complainant works at a garment shop in Talegaon Dabhade. Police have detained the trio after receiving a complaint.
Waghule said the investigation revealed that the complainant’s cousin and the latter’s friend, who had been detained in connection with a murder case, were recently released from a correctional home.
He said one of the three minors has a criminal record. “Our investigation is under way,” he added.
