When an epic rooted in Indian mythology meets fashion inspired by the country’s rich heritage, the result is bound to turn heads. At the Ramayana music event in Chennai, Ranbir Kapoor brought royal charm to the occasion in an embroidered bandhgala, while Sai Pallavi celebrated traditional craftsmanship in a beautiful Banarasi ensemble. Their looks offered two distinct takes on Indian style: Ranbir’s outfit stood out for its regal tailoring and intricate details, while Sai’s look highlighted the timeless beauty of Banarasi textiles. Together, they made a compelling style statement that celebrated Indian heritage, the art of storytelling and the enduring appeal of traditional fashion.

With all the live action taking place over the films, we definitely had something to talk about, and the lead of the film provided us with lots of fashionable moments worth closer attention. Ranbir Kapoor was an advocate for the bandhgala style in a black jacket embroidered with complex patterns and designs for the music event. The monochrome look had a lot of texture without unnecessarily complicating the design. From the perfect shoulders to the proper fit of the bandhgala, the ensemble looked stylish and neat. The only touch of colour was in a white collar worn under the jacket, while the trousers matched the jacket. He completed the look with a flower brooch pinned to the chest and a watch worn on a wrist. In conclusion, both Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi demonstrated that clothing inspired by Indian heritage can be as cinematic as the stories it is inspired by. Ranbir’s embroidered bandhgala added royalty to the event, while Sai’s beautiful Banarasi piece honoured the craft of traditional Indian tailoring by being graceful but simple at the same time. The two ensembles looked regal yet graceful at the ‘Ramayana’ event, reminding us that sometimes the most powerful looks combine tradition with charisma and a touch of epicness.
