Supriya Sule said if employees of cooperative institutions are being used for political campaigns, it is a violation of the fundamental principles of cooperation

Pune: A day before the voting for MLC graduates’ and teachers’ constituencies, NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule filed a complaint with Election Commission , claiming that employees of Pune District Central Cooperative (PDCC) Bank were being told to call up voters and ask them to vote in favour of BJP candidates. Reacting to Sule’s claim, PDCC bank chairperson Digambar Durgade said, “The employee might have made the call in his personal capacity. BJP has fielded Kaustubh Gawade for teachers’ constituency and Smita Jadhav for graduates’ constituency for Pune division seats. Ahead of voting day, Sule stated that the employees of cooperative institutions should not be involved in any campaign and demanded that the Election Commission conduct an inquiry into the audio clip. “Any employee of a cooperative institution can campaign for any candidate in a personal capacity, but not as an employee of the institution and during working hours. The bank has no connection with the campaign. No such instructions regarding the political campaign were given to any employee of our bank.”
