completion charge
However, EWS and LIG plot holders with plots measuring up to 50 square metres will be exempt, benefiting more than 10,000 allottees, according to the authority’s plan. The move follows the state cabinet’s Sept 15 decision to approve the takeover of Sushant Golf City by the LDA after the developer failed to complete the project, leaving several lakh people in limbo. The 3,550-acre township was originally planned to have 6,266 EWS and LIG units. Around 2,618 such units were under construction about a decade ago.
Lucknow: Those who own property or have applied for plots in Sushant Golf City may have to pay Rs 1,150 per square metre as “completion charge” while seeking building map approval from the Lucknow Development Authority. The “completion charge” will have to be paid by people who own a house and want to get it registered. Now, the Authority has prepared a fresh plan to complete the township’s development and streamline building approvals. Projects pending completion include roads, sewerage, electric supply, substations, and other civic amenities. Those planning to make a house will have to pay the charge at the time of map approval.
The LDA has plans to impose the charge in lieu of pending development work in the township, the proposal for which will be placed before the upcoming board meeting of the Authority.
