Officials said the group will regularly review progress against academic targets and coordinate efforts across administrative levels to address learning and performance gaps. Officials said selected teachers and officers will be deployed to the task group. The move is aimed at strengthening academic monitoring and ensuring schools receive timely support. To address any staffing shortages arising from such deployments, school heads may seek approval from district authorities to engage guest or contractual teachers in the same subject. The task group will oversee the implementation of academic goals at the headquarters, district and zonal levels, provide academic support to schools and address feedback from the field. At the headquarters level, a seven-member monitoring team, headed by the additional director of education (examination), will review academic targets uploaded by school heads through the department’s management information system. The team will also provide inputs to district-level teams and facilitate academic support from headquarters wherever required. District-level teams, comprising deputy directors of education (zones) under the respective district deputy director of education, will assess academic performance, devise district-specific strategies and follow up on recommendations issued by the headquarters team. At the zonal level, teams will be headed by the deputy director of education. Each team will include a principal as member-coordinator and two to five teachers nominated by the district deputy director. Their responsibilities will include monitoring academic progress in individual schools, identifying performance gaps and implementing zone-specific improvement strategies.
