The deceased, Eshwar, 16, son of Yathendra Babu, studied at a private school in Ayappakkam.
Police said he was studying at home Friday night when his father asked him to stop and go to bed. Later that night, the teen took the extreme step and died immediately. Residents alerted Vanagaram police, who sent the body to a govt hospital for postmortem. Police have registered a case.
