Tiger Shroff
A court on Friday remanded the trio—Ankit Khatri, Sameer Khatak and Jatin Panchal—in police custody till Oct 28.
Two of the arrested alleged shooters, Phool Singh and Rehan Ansari, told police that while they were on the run, Khatak guided them on how to stay away from CCTV cameras, evade police and get away by frequently changing modes of transport. They took a train to Kandivli and then an aggregator cab for Surat on Khatak’s instructions, said police. Police told the court that they required Khatri, Khatak and Panchal’s custody as part of their probe into the shooters’ alleged firing practice session in a forest in Mira-Bhayander. They said the three guided the shooters to the location. They said the assailants used two pistols in the firing. One of the alleged shooters arranged the weapons, while the other two were in direct contact with Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Anil Pandit, who is suspected to have coordinated the operation, according to police.
The assailants first fled to Andheri station on a bike ridden by one of the alleged shooters, Rithik Roshan. Defence lawyers Ajinkya Mirgal and Satyabrath Joshi argued that police had already seized material evidence, including items from the hotel room where a firearm allegedly misfired during practice. The court permitted the accused to speak to their families over phone.
Mumbai: Three men allegedly involved in the attack on actor Tiger Shroff who were arrested from Haryana earlier this week are believed to have guided the shooters on how to dodge investigators after the attack.
