New Delhi: Residents of east Delhi and parts of south Delhi and NDMC areas may notice a slight change in the taste or mineral characteristics of drinking water from Oct 21 to Nov 8.
In a post on its official social media account on X, Delhi Jal Board said the annual maintenance closure of Upper Ganga Canal by the Uttar Pradesh irrigation and water resources department would temporarily disrupt the supply of raw water from Ganga to the Sonia Vihar and Bhagirathi water treatment plants from the midnight of Oct 20-21 until the midnight of Nov 8-9. The board said the water supplied would be thoroughly treated and tested, and would comply with drinking water safety standards. Hence, DJB has made alternative arrangements to draw raw water from Yamuna to feed the two treatment plants. Download the TOI App.
