Expedite land identification for Indiramma Towers: Ponguleti
Under the first phase, approximately 500 houses are proposed to be constructed in each assembly constituency. Hyderabad: The state govt has set a target of constructing one lakh Indiramma houses in three phases in the CURE area, with a focus on providing housing to poor families close to their existing places of residence so that their livelihoods are not affected. Ponguleti said govt had launched the Indiramma Towers initiative in line with chief minister A Revanth Reddy’s vision of providing homes to poor families without disrupting their livelihoods.
He instructed district collectors in the CURE area to expedite land identification for the first phase and make advance preparations for the second and third phases while ensuring the protection of govt lands. The minister issued these directions during a review meeting at the secretariat, where construction of Indiramma Towers, identification of land for subsequent phases and selection of beneficiaries for 2BHK housing units were discussed. The project is being implemented by treating each assembly constituency as a single unit. The minister directed collectors to expedite land identification in two to three constituencies for the initial phase and identify and secure suitable sites in the remaining constituencies to facilitate subsequent phases. He also instructed officials to continuously monitor land availability, site suitability and other essential requirements to ensure effective implementation of the project. The minister directed officials to complete the selection of beneficiaries for 2BHK houses in Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts by the end of this month.
Revenue and housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Friday directed officials to identify suitable land for the Indiramma Towers project on a war footing.
The details of all beneficiaries will be entered into the software before the draw is conducted online, according to the plan discussed at the meeting. Emphasising transparency in the selection process, he suggested that the housing corporation conduct an online draw using specialised software developed with advanced technology. The same procedure will be followed in all three districts to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive their due. The process will also be broadcast live to enable people to witness the selection. Beneficiaries who are unable to watch the draw in real time will be able to view the details on YouTube at any time and check whether their names figure on the selection list.
