They also sought an update on the inquiry into objections raised by candidates over the results of the Maharashtra Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) Recruitment Exam 2026. Pune: MPSC aspirants, led by NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar , have sought an expansion of the judicial inquiry into irregularities in Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exams to include the PSI Divisional Limited Exam. They also demanded that engineering recruitment across key state departments be brought under the commission to ensure a uniform and transparent selection process. The aspirants stated that the judicial inquiry commission set up to investigate MPSC exam irregularities should also probe the alleged paper leak in the Drug Inspector recruitment examination, along with nine other examinations.
The aspirants submitted a representation to chief secretary Rajesh Agarwal on Friday, seeking action on multiple recruitment-related issues, including exam paper leaks, objections to recruitment results and delays in filling technical posts.

He said, “Separate departmental recruitment exercises were often affected by administrative delays, irregularities in exam arrangements and technical errors, leaving candidates facing uncertainty and govt departments struggling with vacancies. ” Pawar added, “Many engineers in the state are consistently studying and working hard to secure opportunities in govt service. Pawar said, “Bringing these posts under a common recruitment framework would make the process transparent, regular, faster and merit-based. A committee headed by Johnny Joseph has been constituted to examine the objections, and the candidates submitted a representation seeking details of its report and the ongoing special investigation team (SIT) investigation. In a separate demand, Pawar sought the inclusion of civil engineering posts in the public works, water resources, soil and water conservation departments and municipal councils under the MPSC recruitment process. However, uncertainty and delays in the recruitment process are creating confusion about their future. The candidates proposed to the commission that civil engineering assistants be included in the MPSC Group C combined exam and junior engineers (civil) in the Group B non-gazetted recruitment process. The prolonged vacancies in technical posts could affect the implementation of govt development works. ” He also urged the govt to stop filling regular posts in the land records department through contractual or outsourced appointments and instead recruit permanent staff through transparent, merit-based procedures. Pawar requested the chief secretary to consider the proposals positively and provide relief to aspirants preparing for govt recruitment exams. Download the TOI App.
