e-khata drive

Mysuru: Property owners in Mysuru have a golden opportunity to obtain an e-khata within three days for just Rs 175. As part of its drive to digitise all properties under its jurisdiction, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) will conduct a special e-khata camp at its head office on Oct 28. Applications received during the drive will be processed and e-khatas issued by Oct 31.

Two years after the Karnataka govt launched the e-khata initiative, MCC has so far issued e-khatas to nearly 30% of property owners. The civic body now aims to bring all 2.3 lakh properties, including around 60,000 in revenue layouts, under the digital system through the special drive. MCC commissioner MK Savitha said applications would be accepted on Oct 28 and processed within three days. Of the 1.7 lakh households within MCC limits, only about 30% have obtained e-khatas so far. In addition, around 60,000 properties in revenue layouts are yet to be brought under the system.
