Winner of the tennis tournament
Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh players Rishi Yadav and Aashi Shamsheri won the boys’ and girls’ Under-18 singles titles respectively at the Dewan Jagat Mohan Lal Memorial AITA National Series Under-18 Tennis Tournament, which concluded at Allahabad Gymkhana Tennis Academy, Azad Park, on Saturday. Rishi Yadav defeated his state-mate Abhyuday Singh 6-1, 6-2 in the boys’ final to claim the championship. In the girls’ final, Aashi Shamsheri defeated Delhi’s Dyuti Jain 6-4, 6-4. Players from 17 states participated in the national-level tournament, with Uttar Pradesh emerging as the standout performer after winning both singles championships.
