Lucknow: As Deepotsav-2026 approaches, Ayodhya is preparing for a spectacular transformation with illuminated roads, floral decorations and extensive civic arrangements aimed at recreating the grandeur of the Treta Yuga. As guided by chief minister Yogi Adityanath , the municipal corporation is undertaking large-scale preparations to provide devotees and tourists with a clean, safe and memorable experience during the festival on Nov 7.
- 11 of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple to Lata Mangeshkar Chowk. To facilitate pilgrims, 30 mobile toilets with caretakers will be installed at strategic locations. The city already has 471 bio-toilets, while drinking water arrangements include 85 water coolers, 25 water kiosks and additional water tankers.
Major roads, intersections and religious corridors across the city will get decorative lighting,illuminated strings and floral displays. Buildings and poles along Ram Path will feature strip lighting, while special lighting arrangements are being made at key underpasses on the National Highway, including Naka, Devkali, Mahobra and Booth No. Trees along important routes will also be illuminated. A major attraction will be the floral decoration of railings along Ram Path from Gate No. Prominent intersections and public spaces across Ayodhya Dham will also be adorned with flowers and decorative fabric.
With around 33 lakh diyas expected to be lit during Deepotsav, the municipal corporation has drawn up an extensive cleanliness plan. As many as 792 sanitation workers will begin cleaning operations immediately after the event, supported by modern equipment and 55 waste-management vehicles. Officials said round-the-clock efforts are underway to ensure that Deepotsav-2026 is not only visually stunning but also comfortable, hygienic and safe for every visitor arriving in Ram Nagari.
