Pune: An on-duty police constable at YCM Hospital in Pimpri suffered cuts on his head and chest after three men allegedly attacked him around 4.30am on Saturday. The constable, Amol Shinde , is posted at the Pimpri Chinchwad police headquarters. He lodged a complaint against the three suspects with the Sant Tukaramnagar police. Later in the day, the police arrested the suspects, all residents of Pimple Gurav, for allegedly attempting to murder Shinde.
Around 4.30am, the suspects started arguing with doctors over the treatment. Shinde and another constable were on a night duty at the hospital, according to the police. The three suspects had brought their friend for treatment at the hospital. The two constables intervened and asked them to maintain peace. However, the trio allegedly grabbed Shinde and assaulted him with their metal bracelets. Download the TOI App.
