According to a complaint lodged with the Petbasheerabad police by a cruelty prevention assistant at the Stray Animal Foundation of India, the accused reportedly from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, allegedly wrapped the dog in a shawl and took it into his cabin around midnight. A veterinarian noted swelling in the animal’s private parts, according to the complainant. The allegations are under investigation, police said.

He was allegedly caught in the act by a resident. The incident was captured on CCTV footage, and the complainant also reportedly recorded a video. The dog was subsequently taken to an animal rescue home for a medical examination. The accused had absconded by the day after the incident.
