Kolhapur : All India Congress Committee (AICC) member and former Rajasthan minister Dinesh Khodaniya has appealed to Kolhapur residents to join the “Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao” rally at New Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Nov 1, to be led by leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi .
“With the help of the deletions and use of EVMs, the BJP has won several elections.
He said Congress workers were trying to get the names of affected voters restored to the rolls and accused the BJP of weakening democracy. “We will continue our protests to demand that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar accept responsibility and resign,” Khodaniya said. Congress will keep building the heat to get reforms done in the election system,” said Khodaniya.
Addressing a news conference at the Congress office in Kolhapur, Khodaniya alleged that names of crores of voters had been deleted from electoral rolls across the country during the Election Commission of India ’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. Opposition parties will demand the return of ballot papers and an end to electronic voting machine use in Indian elections. The people are against the BJP and it should be genuinely reflected in the voting results.
