A woman was caught on CCTV allegedly stealing items from the Char Dham Temple in Lucknow
A crown belonging to an idol of Shrinath Ji was also reported missing from the temple.
Temple priest Siyaram Awasthi said that the silver umbrella and nose ring belonging to the idol of Goddess Lakshmi had been stolen. Police scan CCTV footage to identify woman Inspector Santosh Arya said the police had not yet received a formal written complaint in connection with the incident. The incident came to light after the temple management discovered that ornaments adorning the idols were missing and alerted the police. CCTV footage of the incident subsequently surfaced on social media, showing a woman entering the temple’s sanctum after looking around cautiously and allegedly removing the ornaments from the idol of Goddess Lakshmi. The crown of the Shrinath Ji idol was also found missing. The police are examining the CCTV footage to establish the identity of the woman seen in the video.
