In a relief for Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) Limited, Supreme Court has permitted

A bench of Justices Sanjay Kumar and Sanjeev Sachdeva gave this clarification after hearing a petition filed by BMRCL, pointing out that the status quo order passed on May 4 will not come in the way of ongoing Metro work. Bengaluru : In a relief for Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) Limited, Supreme Court has permitted it to proceed with construction of its ongoing Blue Line in Hebbal.

The apex court is hearing a special leave petition filed by Lakeview Tourism Corporation, which had challenged the high court’s April 10 order, quashing the acquisition of 55 acres and 13 guntas of land made in its favour. BMRCL claimed 84% of work has been completed for the Blue Line project and any delay will cause huge losses to the state exchequer.
