Kanpur Zoo director Kamlesh Patel said Bijli was initially kept at the veterinary hospital, where experts conducted a health examination. Officials said that hippopotamus Satish, who was born at Kanpur Zoo, will be transferred to Kamla Nehru Zoological Park. She was found completely healthy and subsequently shifted to the lion enclosure. Zoo officials had been trying for several days to get him to enter a cage, but he initially refused to do so. Indore zoo was informed after he began entering the cage a few days ago, following which preparations were made there to transport Bijli to Kanpur. Download the TOI App.
