Airport officials said the parallel taxi track is being developed in phases in coordination with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to improve operational efficiency and strengthen ground traffic management. Officials said the infrastructure upgrade would help the airport manage growing aircraft movements more efficiently while maintaining operational safety standards.
LUCKNOW: Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow on Wednesday inaugurated an 804-metre section of its upcoming 2,864-metre parallel taxi track, aimed at reducing runway occupancy time, improving aircraft movement and minimising flight delays. The newly developed section will become operational from midnight on Thursday, while the remaining stretch is scheduled for inauguration by the end of March 2027. Once the entire 2,864-metre parallel taxi track becomes operational, it is expected to further streamline aircraft movement, reduce ground congestion and enhance the airport’s capacity to handle increasing air traffic.
