Nashik : A 41-year-old woman was murdered in the Wadarwadi gram panchayat office under the Bhingar police station area in Ahilyanagar on Tuesday morning.
At around 7.30am, Dhotre allegedly struck the woman’s head with a blunt object in the gram panchayat office, causing her death.
PI Tejashree Thorat of Bhingar police station said, “Soon after the incident came to light, police swung into action and arrested Dhotre. PI Thorat said that as per preliminary information, Dhotre had a suspicion that the concerned woman had an affair with another person. The police arrested Santosh Dhotre, with whom the woman was in a relationship. The incident came to light a few hours later when some people visited the office. He was in a relationship with the woman for several years. Everyone in the woman’s family was aware about it. The deceased woman, who was separated from her husband, worked as a sweeper in the gram panchayat office, while Dhotre, who was separated from his wife, worked on the garbage van.
