A 10-year-old boy from Valdosta, Georgia, has found a simple way to help people experiencing homelessness in his community. Graham Haskin spent two weeks making and selling bracelets, raising $400 to purchase essential supplies for people in need. With help from his family, he used the money to buy food, bottled water, toilet paper and cleaning supplies for Lowndes Associated Ministries to People Inc. (LAMP), a local organisation that supports people experiencing homelessness. The initiative began with an idea Graham shared with his parents, who helped him turn it into action. His effort has drawn attention for its practical approach to helping others, showing how a child’s initiative can support an organisation working to meet the everyday needs of vulnerable people. The money raised through the bracelet sales went towards food, bottled water, toilet paper and cleaning supplies. With help from his family, Graham delivered the items to Lowndes Associated Ministries to People Inc., commonly known as LAMP. The organisation supports people experiencing homelessness in the Valdosta area. The supplies Graham purchased address everyday needs associated with food, hydration, hygiene and maintaining facilities, providing practical assistance to an organisation working with people who may struggle to access basic necessities.
