Hyderabad: Pharma player Laurus Labs Ltd has clocked a 126% surge in net profit for the second quarter ended Sept 2026, doubling it to ₹441 crore from ₹195 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26, buoyed by the strong growth in its CDMO and affordable medicines businesses.

Revenue for Q2FY27 rose 33% year-on-year to ₹2,206 crore from ₹1,653 crore. For the first half of FY27, the company posted a 126% jump in net profit to ₹809 crore from ₹358 crore in the corresponding period last year. Half-yearly revenue rose 31% to ₹4,233 crore from ₹3,223 crore. CDMO revenue rose 75% in Q2 to ₹904 crore, led by commercial supplies, advancing late-stage clinical projects and ramp-up of new assets. Laurus Labs entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a 60% stake in Canada-based Galenvs Sciences, which specialises in oligonucleotide technologies and precision magnetic nanoparticles. It also agreed to acquire a 52% stake in SI&C Resins, a peptide-resin technology company. The company also declared an interim dividend of ₹1 per share.

Within CDMO, small molecules revenue grew 86% to ₹875 crore, while the bio business declined 38% to ₹29 crore due to campaign phasing. The company also announced investments to strengthen its technology platforms.

The company said performance was driven by sustained momentum across its CDMO and affordable medicines divisions. Satyanarayana Chava, founder & CEO, Laurus Labs, said the company delivered “another record quarter of strong growth in revenue and profits,” reflecting the strength of its CDMO platform and affordable medicines portfolio. “The company operationalized its first commercial scale peptide plant in Vizag utilizing cutting edge operating systems and a significant capacity expansion is already under progress to address surging demand for peptide therapeutics,” Chava said. Laurus Labs said the Galenvs investment would expand its end-to-end oligonucleotide offering by combining Galenvs’ early-stage development, conjugation, purification and fill-finish capabilities with Laurus’ large-scale manufacturing strengths.

“We also made targeted investments in Oligonucleotides and peptide-resins technologies elevating our integrated CDMO offering.
