Chennai: Stepping up his offensive against the TVK govt, DMK leader M K Stalin said chief minister C Joseph Vijay was relying on “roadshows and raids” to divert public attention and breaking news headlines away from deteriorating law and order in the state. Referring to TVK as a “TN branch washing machine” that takes corrupt elements on board and turns them into bargaining chips, Stalin said the “vettri vendetta politics” targeting former DMK ministers would fail before the law and collapse in the court of public opinion. Stalin said the ongoing raids were orchestrated to generate reels for the Trichy East bypoll and to help Vijay deliver “theatrical punch dialogues on stage”. The nation was mocking TVK governance over law and order failures, administrative stagnation and spiralling inflation, he said, vowing to expose the “govt’s misdeeds with greater intensity”.

Stalin’s remarks came amid raids at the houses and properties of senior DMK functionary and former minister K N Nehru and his family members. He declared that even a primary member of DMK would not be intimidated by such actions.
