The CMO said Varanasi also performed exceptionally well on key indicators related to caesarean deliveries. Dr Singh said the achievement was also the result of collective efforts, better planning and regular monitoring of health services.
The district ranked first in the state on both major caesarean delivery indicators linked to district hospitals and community health centres. Commendable performance was also recorded across development blocks in important health indicators such as HIV testing of pregnant women, full immunisation, institutional deliveries, antenatal check-ups and home-based newborn care services. He directed hospitals and health units to continue improving their performance, regularly review prescribed health indicators and ensure effective implementation of govt-prioritised health programmes.
