(Representative) An 18-year-old nursing student who went missing and was later found dead in Firozabad district
FIROZABAD: An 18-year-old nursing student was found dead in mysterious circumstances in UP’s Firozabad district, with her family alleging that the college principal and his son were behind her death, police said on Thursday. Police later examined CCTV footage from the college and found that Preeti had left the premises alone at around 2.30am after climbing over the boundary wall. Police have registered an FIR under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with murder, along with other relevant provisions, based on the family’s complaint.
A search of her room also yielded no information about her whereabouts. Her body was subsequently found near Mauda Kaneta village following information received by the police. It was later identified as Preeti’s. After the post-mortem, her family members staged a road blockade near the district headquarters, demanding action. The protest was called off after police officers intervened and persuaded them to take the body home.
She went missing on Wednesday morning when her hostel-mates noticed she was not in the hostel after they left for breakfast at the mess.
