For the Diwali party hosted by her and her husband, Nick Jonas, on October 30 at their home in Los Angeles, Priyanka donned a burgundy-and-gold embroidered gown that incorporated the beauty of Indian craftsmanship into a contemporary piece of clothing. Priyanka Chopra, our desi girl, has undoubtedly found a way to balance her country’s traditions with her ambitions in the international market. In fact, her idea of festival dressing does not begin or end with a lehenga or saree.

She opted for an elegant gown, which featured a fitted bodice with elaborate embroidery. The elegant garment featured gold colours from the neck to the bottom hemline, woven through burgundy fabric. But the neckline did the job, as she opted for an off-the-shoulder detail featuring a thin embroidered band. Wonderful beaded embroidery on the gown’s bust added dynamism, giving her bodice a modish look. (Image Credits: Instagram) The neckline’s design subtly nodded to the dupatta. The embroidered band worked almost like a soft drape over the shoulders, bestowing a traditional character on the overall look. She styled her hair in a sleek bun at the nape of the neck, adorned with real stalks of white jasmine flowers, which gave an overall mesmerising edge. She wore stacked bangles, which balanced her overall appearance without clashing with the richly embroidered dress. As for her makeup, she kept things in keeping with her warm tones and spirited hues. The selected berry lip matched the maroon outfit, while the eyes were lightly smoky.
