Nagpur: A day after TOI highlighted the traffic chaos caused by the closure of a around 150-metre road stretch near Daga Hospital, traffic police on Saturday swung into action and reopened the road, bringing much-needed relief to thousands of motorists and local residents.

Residents said that authorities must now take steps to clear construction debris and other obstructions to ensure smooth traffic movement. traffic police maintained that construction debris and the risk of wrong-side movement on the flyover ramp had necessitated barricading While NHAI officials claimed they had already constructed a road beside the disputed shop. locals demanded immediate removal of construction debris, proper road markings and clearance of remaining obstructions to prevent further congestion While the reopening of the stretch has brought relief to motorists. They also urged NHAI and traffic police to coordinate and ensure that the stretch does not become a traffic bottleneck again.

Earlier, Cotton Market traffic zone police inspector Ajay Mankar had acknowledged the problem, stating that a shop on the stretch was involved in litigation pending before the high court. Following the report, traffic police removed the barricades on Saturday, allowing vehicles to use the previously closed stretch.
