Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes have another reason to celebrate Kansas City’s growing sports success. Their co-owned NWSL club, the Kansas City Current, has secured its third consecutive postseason appearance and is preparing to bring the city together for another exciting playoff run. With the regular season approaching its finish, the club is planning a series of fan events, special displays and a themed watch party.
The celebrations will give supporters a chance to show their colours before the Current begin their latest push for postseason glory.
The Kansas City Current will kick off its postseason celebrations with a special Teal Time watch party at Current Landing on Sunday, November 1. The event will centre on the team’s important road fixture against Racing Louisville FC, scheduled for 4 p.m. Supporters can arrive from 3 p.m. The first 200 fans through the doors will receive a free Teal Time-themed popcorn box, while larger-than-life clapper boards will add to the atmosphere. The Current officially secured their third straight postseason berth on October 23. Potential home quarterfinal tickets went on general sale on October 29, giving supporters an early chance to secure their seats if the club hosts a playoff match.

Fans will be able to follow the Decision Day contest on a big screen at Current Landing. The celebrations reflect the growing connection between the team and Kansas City. Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, who are part of the ownership group behind the Current, have helped bring additional attention to women’s professional soccer in the city. Their involvement has also strengthened the club’s profile beyond the NWSL. However, the team still has an important target ahead of Decision Day. A place in the top four of the final NWSL standings could earn Kansas City home-field advantage for a quarterfinal at CPKC Stadium. Kansas City is also making sure the excitement reaches beyond the stadium. Teal-themed billboards and oversized clapper boards will appear at Current Landing and City Market, while Union Station will display teal banners to support the team’s postseason campaign.
CT to enjoy the festivities before the match begins.
