The march will be led by CM Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari
NAGPUR: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union minister Nitin Gadkari will lead a BJP march in Nagpur on November 5, marking the culmination of the party’s nationwide ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ campaign.
The events will focus on electoral integrity, the voting rights of eligible citizens and public confidence in democratic and constitutional institutions, according to a party release. The four-day programme will offer students, youth, social media influencers, intellectuals and members of the general public an opportunity to engage with issues related to democracy, Bawankule said. He also appealed to people to participate in the events.
The march, which is expected to draw between 15,000 and 20,000 participants, is part of the BJP’s effort to counter what it has described as misleading propaganda by Opposition parties about democratic institutions. As part of the ‘Lokshahi Vachava-Arajakta Hatva’ campaign, a series of programmes will be organised in Nagpur from November 2 to 5, he said. Senior BJP leader and state Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule told reporters on Sunday that the march will begin at Yashwant Stadium and conclude at Samvidhan Chowk.
