Nashik : A 24-year-old industrial worker riding a bike home was killed in a hit-and-run case in the Ambad MIDC area in the early hours of Saturday.
Sub-inspector Mukteshwar Lad of the MIDC police station said that Sanap was on his way home around 1 am on Saturday after finishing his duty. As soon as the information was passed on to the police station, a team rushed to the spot within 10 minutes and took Sanap to Nashik Civil Hospital.
“While he was about 200 metres away from the MIDC police station, a truck knocked him down and escaped from the scene without informing anyone about the accident,” the officer said. However, he was declared brought dead.
“So far there is no clue about the trucker who was responsible for the accident and death of the 24-year-old worker. We have registered a case of causing death due to negligence and rash driving against the unidentified truck driver.
We are gathering information to trace the trucker,” the officer said.
