Lucknow: Preparations for Deepotsav in Ayodhya have reached the final stage, with Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra planning to light one lakh diyas across the Ram Temple complex on Nov 7 under the leadership of chief minister Yogi Adityanath . The move is aimed at adding a new dimension to the decade-old Deepotsav celebrations that have grown into a major cultural and religious event.
Nearly 1,000 volunteers will take part in lighting the lamps across the expansive premises. As per the plan, more than 30,000 diyas will be lit in and around the main Ram Temple area, including the Yagyashala and surrounding spaces. Another 30,000 diyas will illuminate Kuber Tila, Panchvati and the Hutatma Memorial.
To manage the exercise, the Trust has divided the complex into five zones and formed volunteer batches led by team leaders and chief coordinators. The remaining lamps will be placed across pilgrim facilities, darshan routes, Angad Tila, Sita Rasoi and other key locations within the temple complex. Chief executive officer of the Temple Trust, retired air marshal Jitendra Mishra, secretary Jagdish Afle and senior officials reviewed the preparations and assigned responsibilities during a meeting held on Saturday at the pilgrim facility centre.
