2 brothers held for minor’s rape after encounter in Firozabad
Agra : Two brothers accused of abducting, raping and assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Firozabad were arrested after an encounter with police on Sunday, officials said. The incident took place around 7 pm on Saturday when the girl went out to relieve herself but did not return. On the basis of a complaint filed by her family, police registered an FIR under sections 109(1) (attempt to murder) and 70(2) ( gang rape of a woman or girl below 18 years) of the BNS, along with provisions of the Pocso Act .
“Acting on information about the accused, police teams cordoned off the area and launched a checking operation.
In retaliatory firing, two of them sustained bullet injuries to their legs and were arrested,” he said. Both sustained gunshot wounds to their legs. Her family searched for her through the night. The accused allegedly opened fire at the police team with the intention of killing them.
Firozabad SSP Aditya Langesh said the investigation confirmed the rape and led to the identification of three suspects.
