Hyderabad: Virtual pharma company HRV Pharma is acquiring a 100% stake in German clinical trial supplier Phatebo GmbH for an undisclosed amount, marking the Hyderabad-headquartered company’s entry into European finished formulations and expanding its business beyond active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
The company, which was set up in 2015, has relationships with more than 50 FDA- and EU-GMP-certified manufacturing partners and customers in 55 countries.
The Hyderabad-based company said the acquisition fits its asset-light model, under which it works with certified manufacturing partners rather than owning production plants. HRV Pharma founder, managing director and CEO Hari Kiran Chereddi said Phatebo gives the company its first finished formulations business alongside its API portfolio. Lisker said HRV understands the need for quality and speed in clinical trial supply, where sponsors depend on timely sourcing and documented shipments.
HRV said post-acquisition, Phatebo will continue operating under its own name from Hilzingen, led by its managing director Martin Lisker, with its team and customer agreements remaining in place. It will become a wholly owned subsidiary of HRV Pharma.
