The youths were arrested for obstructing a police vehicle during an altercation, according to the police. He said one of the youths was a person who had secured a job abroad, and that he had only questioned why a non-bailable section had been invoked against him. Jaleel contacted the officer on the phone on Oct 25 and demanded the release of a group of youths who were in custody, according to the FIR. The case was registered on the complaint of SHO Sharath . He allegedly threatened to have the SHO transferred and to ‘finish him off’.
