Kanpur: Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) has been placed in the 1001-1100 band in the QS Asia University Rankings 2027, ranking 172nd in India and joint 324th in Southern Asia.
Its academic reputation score rose more than fourfold in three years — from 5 in 2025 to 13.4 in 2026 and 20.6 in 2027. Its employer reputation score increased from 10.4 in 2025 to 13.1 in 2026 and 14.1 in 2027. The university said the improvement reflected its efforts to strengthen ties with industry and employers and provide employment-oriented education.It scored 58.4 on the parameter measuring teachers holding PhDs, 25.8 for its international research network and 24.9 for citations per paper. He said the rise in academic reputation score from 5 to 20.6 within three years was a matter of pride.
The university ranked fourth among state universities in Uttar Pradesh. Vice-Chancellor Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak credited Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel’s guidance for inspiring CSJMU to set new goals in academic excellence, research and innovation.
