Pune: The Defence Accounts Department (DAD) has launched a nationwide campaign to facilitate digital life certificates for defence pensioners, veer naris and their families through more than 200 SPARSH (system for pension administration raksha) service centres across the country during Nov. The digital life certificate (DLC) campaign being conducted from Nov 1 to 30, aims to promote Aadhaar-based face authentication technology, enabling pensioners to submit their annual life certificates digitally through the Jeevan Pramaan and Aadhaar face RD apps. Special assistance will be provided to super-senior citizens aged 80 years and above and persons with disabilities. The centre was inaugurated by Controller General of DAD Alka Nangia Arora on Oct 27.
Because often the officials inform us that the system is crashed or slow, however, some military veterans pointed out that these SPARSH centres need to function properly. The campaign will also assist pensioners whose Aadhaar details are not linked to the SPARSH portal with linking and updating their records. As part of the outreach, the office of PCDA (Southern Command), Pune, has opened a new SPARSH service centre at the Guards, Kamptee in Nagpur. The initiative aims to improve pension services and make digital life certificate submission more accessible, particularly for elderly and digitally less-literate pensioners. Also, there has to be a proper mechanism to avoid waiting at these centres. Download the TOI App.
