Accused – Prabhuraj
Police said Jayashree S, 23, a resident of Domlur, has been working as a receptionist at Premium Shoe & Bag Repair on 100ft Road in Indiranagar for the past three years.
Deputy commissioner of police (East) Vikram Amathe said the woman was safe and unharmed. Prabhuraj alias Raj, a resident of Surya City, was nabbed by bystanders in a dramatic chase through a busy road. He was wearing a helmet and gloves to hide his identity. She manages operations of the shop owned by Ranjith Kumar . By then, Ranjith and others tried to overpower him. Prabhuraj attacked Ranjith before pulling Jayashree out of the shop and trying to escape with the mangalya chain. Members of the public and traffic police chased and caught the accused.

A senior officer said the accused claimed his wife was unwell and he wanted money for her treatment. Prabhuraj worked as a delivery boy of a restaurant chain before he was sacked recently. The accused claimed he asked the victim to give her the chain; when she didn’t, he resorted to violence.
