LONDON: Rice Krispies and Coco Pops in Britain will no longer be made of rice due to “changing weather conditions” affecting the quality and availability of some of the rice and grains used in the breakfast cereals.
A spokesperson from Kellogg’s said: “The updated recipes have been carefully assessed for taste, appearance and texture, and we are continuing to listen closely to consumer feedback.
Instead of puffed rice, the popular Kellogg’s breakfast cereal Rice Krispies will be made using rice flour and Coco Pops will contain a blend of rice flour and corn flour, the cereal giant said. Fans online complained they had lost their snap, crackle and pop and tasted “disgusting”. The new recipes list wheat gluten as an ingredient, meaning they are no longer safe for those intolerant to gluten.
The cereal in America and Canada will not be affected as it is owned by a separate business, WK Kellogg. You use AI every day. Now get your AI Quotient. Take the AIQ test.
