The polaroids adorning our friendly neighbourhood Bhaisaaaaab Vishnu Kaushal and gang’s mirror proves that our parties look a lot more Insta-worthy
Talking about how we do Diwali differently, he says, “For us personally, it’s about creating a sense of community with people we’ve met along the way. Content creator Vishnu Kaushal hosts a Diwali party every year. After hosting a low-key event this year, he tells us, “Over the years, we’ve done everything for our Diwali party. This year was a lot more low-key, just with a few of our closest friends & family. Just with people we almost see every day or want to see every day! Diwali gives us a reason to meet; every other day there’s a friend’s Diwali party, and it’s the same people we saw at the last one. It’s a nice way to end the year together. The behind-the-scenes of Gen Z party looks are decided very casually (pic credit: nirvana.escapes) Aastha shares, “Honestly, parties are less about the food and more about the hang. If we have to eat, we just go out. Parties are for sharing embarrassing stories, making memories and dancing our hearts out. Aamna adds, “A typical party would include warm decor, an absolute NO to fireworks, desi outfits, unique cocktails, some digicam pictures with the perfect playlist on hand. I prefer the snacks and a potluck situation. It acts as a conversation starter, and also reduces the load from the host’s back.”
