Russia said its forces launched a massive overnight strike on military-industrial, energy and transport infrastructure in Kyiv and the surrounding region, targeting facilities it claimed were being used to support Ukraine’s armed forces. The ministry reported damage to several energy and industrial facilities in the Kyiv region, including a power plant, an electricity substation and a munitions manufacturing facility.

In a statement, Russia’s defence ministry said the strikes hit the Northern Bridge in Kyiv, which it alleged was being used to transport weapons, military equipment and vehicles for Ukrainian forces. It also claimed that the Meridian plant, which it said manufactures Flamingo cruise missiles, was among the targets. Beyond the capital region, Russian forces also struck an electricity substation in the Zhytomyr region, the ministry said.
