Prayagraj : A 28-year-old woman was allegedly bludgeoned to death by her husband over suspicion of an extramarital affair in Mandar Dehamafi village under Puramuftee police station limits early Friday. Police registered a murder case against the accused on the complaint of the woman’s father and subsequently arrested him.
The couple reportedly had an argument around 2 am and Vijma was allegedly attacked with a heavy object, believed to be a stone hand grinder, sustaining fatal injuries to her head and face.
Bhaiyalal suspected that his wife was involved in a relationship with another man, leading to frequent quarrels between them, according to police. Police informed her family members after reaching the spot, following which her father, Ram Bhavan, reached the police station and lodged a complaint accusing Bhaiyalal of murder.
Vijma’s uncle, Ramraj, alleged that Bhaiyalal had returned from her parental home with Vijma and their children three days earlier and subsequently killed her with the stone grinder. Puramuftee SHO Shantanu Singh said the husband was arrested and sent to jail on Saturday after completion of the required legal formalities.
