On Saturday, a 45-year-old director of the NBFC filed the complaint with the TGCSB headquarters police station. The company staff noticed on Friday that over Rs 7 crore had been transferred out of their corporate bank account between 11 am and 12 noon, according to him. A complaint was also lodged on the National Cyber Crime Helpline, 1930, on Friday. Based on the complaint, the TGCSB police have registered a case under sections 318(4) (cheating) and 319(2) (cheating by personation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and sections 43, 66, 66C and 66D of the Information Technology Act against unknown accused.

“The money went to various beneficiary accounts in 39 unauthorised transactions through RTGS and IMPS transfers,” the complainant told police. The company, registered with the RBI and headquartered in the Financial District at Nanakaramguda, has asked the bank to suspend the compromised banking channels to prevent further losses. It has urged police to trace and freeze the funds before they are withdrawn or moved again.
