Koppal: Rural police arrested the second accused in the Oct 20 murder of Santosh Kumar at Metagal after tracking him down to Bihar’s Saharsa district. Based on Mallappa’s complaint, CEN police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.
Police said the murder was linked to an alleged illicit relationship. During interrogation, Kishore allegedly confessed to his involvement in the murder, SP Sahil Bagla said. An FIR had been registered against Manish Kumar and his associate Kishore Kumar for their alleged role in the crime. Kishore had been absconding While Manish was arrested on the day of the incident. Police arrested him there and brought him to Koppal for questioning.
A special team led by CPI Jayaprakash and PSI Veeresh Malashetty was formed to trace him. Acting on information gathered during the investigation and technical surveillance inputs, the team tracked Kishore’s location to Saharsa district.
