Today, the retired Philadelphia Eagles star has assembled a sprawling property compound worth nearly $6 million in combined purchase costs. Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce began building their property portfolio in 2018, the same year they got married. Jason paid $680,000 for the property, which reportedly had 2.5 bathrooms, a three-car garage, a greenhouse and an outdoor swimming pool with waterfalls and a hot tub. In 2020, he purchased an adjoining eight-acre property for $3.96 million. Three years later, he added another neighbouring parcel for $1.35 million. The three purchases brought his total reported spending to approximately $5.99 million. Together, the properties created a compound covering roughly 10 acres. The nearly $6 million figure reflects what the Kelces reportedly paid for the properties, not a confirmed appraisal or recent sale. By 2025, their plans had moved beyond purchasing additional land. Jason personally appeared before the Haverford Township Zoning Hearing Board on February 20, 2025, to explain the proposed changes.

Because jason used the space to record episodes of his popular New Heights podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, it later became familiar to fans. Because the former football star rarely needed to deal with the kind of local planning issues that come with expanding a large private estate, his appearance was notable.

She had already noticed changes to her property when it rained, according to local reporting. Jason Kelce’s real estate journey in Pennsylvania began with a relatively modest purchase. What started as a four-bedroom home gradually became a much bigger family project, with neighbouring properties joining the estate over several years. However, expanding the land brought unexpected challenges. Plans for another house and a privacy fence eventually reached a local zoning board after neighbours raised concerns about construction, changing slopes and possible water runoff. Their first purchase was a four-bedroom home in Haverford, an upscale Philadelphia suburb. The house also had a finished basement with a fireplace. However, the former Eagles centre had bigger plans for the surrounding land. It is important to distinguish the combined purchase price from the estate’s current market value. The growing property portfolio is closely connected to the couple’s desire to establish a long-term family home in Pennsylvania. Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce have remained in the Philadelphia area even after his retirement from professional football. Haverford also has a personal connection for Kylie, making the location more than a convenient address for the former NFL star. Rather than moving to a different city after his playing career, Jason has continued investing in the community where they started their married life. The family compound also offers room for privacy, recreation and work. The existing home has features that support family life, while the adjoining land gives the couple more freedom to plan a larger residence. The couple wanted to build another house on the estate, creating more space for their growing family. They also sought permission to change parts of the property and install additional fencing. This time, however, he wanted officials and neighbours to understand why the changes mattered to his family. The proposed construction did not receive an entirely smooth reception. Some neighbours questioned how the work could affect surrounding properties, particularly when it came to rainwater and drainage. One of the main concerns involved removing slopes from the land to prepare a relatively flat area for the planned house. Residents worried that changing the natural flow of water could increase runoff and create flooding problems during construction. Neighbour Wendy De La Rosa raised the issue during the zoning hearing. Her concerns were not simply about the appearance of the estate or the construction activity. Water flowing onto neighbouring land could create problems for nearby families, especially if the work changed existing drainage patterns. The discussion became an important part of the hearing. Civil engineer Timothy Davis explained that the slopes were not entirely natural.

They had been created decades earlier when a house was built on the land and an elevated section was formed to provide access to a swimming pool.

Because of his connection to Travis and the growing popularity of Kylie, his family also attracted attention.

Speaking at the February hearing, he said: “We wanted to be in this area,” Kelce said. The disagreement showed how even a multimillion-dollar property project can affect the wider neighbourhood. For the Kelces, the goal was to create a more private family residence. For nearby residents, protecting their own homes from possible water damage remained equally important. Water management was not the only issue discussed at the hearing. The Kelces also wanted permission to install a fence that would improve security around their property. As Jason’s public profile grew through his NFL career, media appearances and the success of New Heights, maintaining privacy became more difficult. Jason explained that the proposed fence was intended to reduce unnecessary foot traffic near their home without making the property look out of place in the neighbourhood. “We like this area a lot. He also explained the family’s security concerns, saying: “Obviously things for my family are quite unique with the security purposes. We’d like to just deter a little bit of the foot traffic coming in and out of the home, so we were trying to put a fence that sufficiently does that while also appeals to the aesthetic of the area and that people would appreciate.”

For Jason, the project represents another chapter in a career that has changed considerably since he retired from the NFL in 2024. What began as a $680,000 home has developed into a nearly $6 million property compound through three separate purchases. For a family seeking more privacy, the nearly 10-acre estate may offer plenty of space.

He also addressed the concerns about construction and drainage, explaining that temporary runoff could increase while work continued. However, sediment controls had been put in place, and the team was prepared to direct water towards a more suitable location. The proposal included changes to the existing driveway, a gated entrance and additional fencing. The design team also planned to retain parts of the existing fence and add landscaping to soften the appearance of the new sections. The intention was to balance security with the character of the surrounding street. The Kelces did not want the estate to feel completely disconnected from the community. After hearing from the Kelces, their representatives and nearby residents, the zoning board approved the requested variances. However, the decision came with conditions designed to address the concerns raised during the meeting. The most important requirement involved stormwater management. The Kelces would have to ensure that runoff from their construction work did not adversely affect neighbouring properties. The board also required the approved work to be completed within two years. The decision allowed the family to move forward with their plans, but it also made clear that property expansion comes with responsibilities beyond the boundaries of private land. His success with the Philadelphia Eagles helped establish him as one of the league’s most recognisable centres. His media work and business ventures have since given him a new public platform. The expansion has brought new possibilities for the Kelce family, but it has also placed their plans under the scrutiny of the local community. And while the zoning approval cleared an important hurdle, the challenge now is to complete the project while keeping the neighbours’ concerns in mind. Making the ambitious expansion work for everyone around it is another matter. Get the latest Sports News and Live updates. Download the TOI app.
