Kolkata: Two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a high-end smartphone from a 31-year-old man, hailing from Uttarpara in Hooghly district, on Camac Street in central Kolkata during the wee hours of Saturday.

Taking advantage of a momentary lapse in his attention, the miscreants snatched the phone and sped away, leaving no time for the bystanders to respond. Sharma lodged a formal complaint at the local police station, providing details of the phone’s IMEI number and the mobile number linked to it. Police have registered an FIR against the unknown persons. Investigators are speaking to witnesses and checking CCTV footage from the Fort Knox Building and nearby areas of Camac Street. Police are also trying to track the stolen phone and identify the two-wheeler used in the crime.
The victim, Nimesh Sharma, had stepped out of a popular bar inside the Fort Knox Building on Camac Street around 2.15 am.
