Ghaziabad food safety officials seized nearly ten quintals of prepared chhena rasgullas.
GHAZIABAD : Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, the Food Safety Department in Ghaziabad launched a major crackdown on food adulteration, seizing nearly 10 quintals of prepared chhena rasgullas from a warehouse in Biharipura. Meanwhile, the department took the entire stock of nearly 10 quintals of sweets into custody and initiated the process for its disposal.
The chhena rasgullas were allegedly being prepared using adulterated paneer and sugar, along with chemicals such as sefolite, according to food safety officials. A departmental team raided the warehouse, located under the jurisdiction of the Vijay Nagar police station, following information about alleged adulteration. During the raid, officials collected four samples from the premises and sent them to a laboratory for testing.
